Hey all, here is a pic from our Christmas party last weekend. It has been a long week recovering and I finally got the chance to post the pictures. We had a great time and combined the annual doe hunt for the guys and the Christmas party all into one. Friday night, we exchanged gag gifts and coincidentally most of them managed to stay at our home, so if you haven't received a gift yet...watch out! Saturday, me and the girls went and had pedicures and did a little shopping. We had lots of fun getting pampered and catching up on life and TV. Did you know that the "Holly", hef's girlfriend moved out and is getting married! Who new?!
We all had a great time and I am looking forward to it next year!

Ryan shot a deer! It was great to get the call because he was very excited. I don't know the specifics yet, but I am sure I will be posting later. Here are the first pics taken!

I know this is a crazy pic, but it has special meaning to the Berger Grandkids. We would play the heck out of that cattle trailor growing up, as well as the small wooden trailor (not pictured). We would lock people up in jail, climb to the top, and use it as base when the boys were chasing us.

This weekend was my Grandparents estate sale. A sad day to sell all of there things, but it was something you just had to do. The sale went good. I bought my grandparent's rocking chairs, which were priceless. It is funny the things you remembered vs another grandkid. Going through all of their things brought back all good memories.

Ryan and I went to a pre-hunting season party out at the Muehr's. All the food was great and we had a good time. It was nice to sit by the campfire and enjoy some cold beverages. I would post some more of the pictures, but they didn't turn out as well as I had hoped.

The Hunt

Well, the long hunt for a kitchen table is over! I feel like i have scoured the earth and been to every furniture shop and internet site there it. I have found a table at JC Penny's and it will be in this week. YEAH!

Ryan, however, is still on the hunt for the big buck. He has seen it over the weekend, so no shooters yet that have took him for the wall. Hopefully, he will get him this weekend
!

Well, all we need is a plumber and our bathroom will be in working order. We had a minor set back with the light fixture, but i am going to fix that this weekend. It is all coming together nicely and just needs a few more cosmetic touches to be complete. Here is a pic so far.
This past weekend, Ryan and I spent saturday at the Colorado County fair. Ryan competed in the tractor pull and had a great time. Three first place wins. Next weekend is the opening of deer season and you better believe Ryan will be in that tree as soon as possible. So hopefully I will be posting some pics of a nice buck on Sunday!

Vacation to California/Beth moving to College

Ryan and I just got back from California and had a great time. Ryan and Jeff hunted all week and unfortunately did not get anything. I came up on Wednesday and planned the next two days full of hiking and site seeing. The fires in the northern part of California prevented us from seeing the Redwood Trees at the nearby state parks. The waterfalls were beautiful and the water was freezing. There was no time to dawdle after you jumped in...you were searching quickly for the nearest out. Thank you Jared, Stefanie, and Brandt for being a great host. Thanks to Jared, Mel, and Tom for the hunting experience.

We came home Saturday, then headed out again to College Station to help Beth move in to her apartment. Now, we will be home for a bit and hopefully I will be painting the bathroom over Labor Day.

Moving Day!

While Ryan is in California hunting some black tail deer, I helped my sis and bro move in to their new pads. Matt moved into a new one bedroom across the apartment complex and kelli moved into a house. The house is fixed up cute and i think the girls are really going to like it there!

Two more days of work then off to California I go! Will post a pic when I get a chance.

Weekend at the Guadalupe!

We had another great weekend, this time floating the river. We met up with friends on Saturday at Chilie's in San Marcos, ate some lunch, then headed down to the river. Floating the river seemed to be the idea for most this weekend and the water was full! We even met up with the Kaspareks' from Weimar celebrating Reagan's graduation from Texas State! Congrats Reagan!

The water was great and the temperature was HOT! Jello shots and beer went fast, which lead to the unsupervision of my camera that was "safely" placed in a zip lock bag in the cooler that I was carefully monitoring.... at least before the beer. The camera was found in the bag, but at the bottom of the cooler with ice in the ziplock. Not too disappointed because my pictures were retrieved! Yeah! ( I guess the old school memory stick doesn't get bothered by a little freezing water and spilt beer!)

Sunday was filled with surprises. Ryan's truck went out while the guys went to Dripping Springs to fill feeders, leaving me and Amy looking for a ride home. Thank you Kelly for the ride to Weimar. Then we got home and the house was locked with my and Amy's set of keys to the our houses inside!
Thanks dad Berger for the assistance into the house and dad Brandt for bringing the trailer to pick up the truck !

We had another exciting weekend at the Schulenburg Festival. We got to hang out with friends that we haven't seen in a long time and had a blast. What is Schulenburg festival you may ask....well, it is a good excuse to act crazy, drink some beer, and dance on the tables. And who did I learn this from.... family of course! They were right along side us. Enjoy the pics complements of Aunt Cindy!

Oh, Happy One Year Anniversary Amy and Jeff!

Demolition Time!

We had another busy weekend demolishing what was left of our bathroom. We started Friday night with the removing the sink, cabinets, and studs. Then Kelli surprised us on Saturday while we were away and had the walls completely down to studs. I think that she may have picked the wrong profession. Sunday was the major day for clean up. Kelli and I made a couple of trips out to the farm with lots and lots of sheet rock.

The picture here is on Sunday and Ryan removing some of the last nails. We are now ready to take out the floor. Stay tuned for more pictures.

Fishing Trip To Matagorda

Had a great fishing weekend with Some good friends Kench and Lindsey. We went down for the weekend to there home in Port Lavaca. Saturday morning we left at 4:30, got bait and were on the water by 6:30 in Matagorda.

Lindsey and Kench were hitting them hard early and Kim hooked into something that ran hard and she fought it for about 35 minutes. Got it to the boat and it wouldnt come up. Must have been a huge ray. We cut the line and went back to fishing.

I started to get into a few trout and ended up with only 5 but in the range of 19-22 inches. Solid stringer. Lindsey and Kench cought the rest of them and Kim had a few undersize fish and spent the morning getting over the battle with the big ray.

We decided to go in at about 10:00 running out of bait and with a bite slowing down and had 22 total trout.

Kench caught a nice 28 incher for the days big fish.

Then back to the house to clean up and head out to Poco Bueno. There we got to see a huge blue marlin come in for a weigh. 508 lbs! The boats that came in were incredible and more expensive to run the thing on gas that weekend than most of the things we own! Rumor has it that the entry fee was 10000 dollars and by invitation only.

Back to the house by 900 and hit the bed pretty early. (Up at 4 am without a nap wore us all out.)

So, to sum it all up.... Did a little fishing, some hunting ealy sunday morning, watched two movies, ate some good food and had a great time! Here are some picture from the fishing trip!

Its been a bit since I have posted, that is because we have been so busy. We haven't been home the past two weekends. The weekend after father's day, the girls (Mom, Kelli and I) went to Dallas for Market...shopping Christmas for the store. Everything was fine until my AC deceided not to work all the way to Dallas! Talk about miserable but made it okay. The rest of the weekend went fine only to leave again a couple of days later.

Last weekend, the Kainer's and the Bergers went to float the Guadalupe River! It was great, there were not alot of people floating and the water level was high enough that we didn't have to walk. Only one time, did I stand to push myself off of a big rock. I will post pictures of dad and ryan's water gun fight as soon as I can. Oh yeah, DAD FLOATED TOO!

This weekend, July 4th. I worked, but luckily there was plenty of time to hang out at the river with Angela and Carl, Betty and Emmel, mom and dad, and Hugo and Deena. We shot skeet, drank some beer, and barbaqued. We had a perfect and relaxing forth of July!

Here are a few pictures of some darn good shooting!

Check out my Slide Show From Father's Day!

Father's Day Weekend!

Wow, what a weekend! The whole family went to Port O'Conner for a fun filled weekend of sun, fishing, swimming, and visiting! Ryan and I left Friday after work, and met up with a friend of ours in Port Lavaca (Kench Connely). We checked out his beautiful new home! It brought back so many memories of hard work in the yard, painting, scraping, and tearing down walls to make it a place you can be proud of. Everything looks great and we can't wait to go back and stay a little longer. Sorry Lindsey that we missed you!

We got down to Port O'Conner around 10:00, just early enough where i could catch my first fish of the weekend...only to know later it would be my only fish. We headed to bed soon after 1130 and woke up early the next morining where Kelli, Trevor, Dad, Stephanie, Brian, and Captian Gary went fishing again. I spent most of my time learning how to cast and picking out the birds nest I had made in my reel. Where Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Brian were catching tons of fish at the back of the boat....good thing Kelli, Trev and I scared all them fish back there! Ha Ha!

Ryan went out that evening and then next day with all the guys who wanted to wade fish. They, of course caught the limit of speckled trout. I stand corrected, Bridgette Rameriz (Jay's girlfriend) hung in there and also caught her own supper. Way to represent!

All the family did get a chance to go see what wade fishing was all about because Uncle Gary took us out on the boat 2 hours later, so we could see for ourselves. Since we were WAY over the boat limit with both the guys and us, he left us on an island of shells while he moved them to another location. We looked very stranded, all alone on this strip of land with not one boat coming by to see if we were okay!

We left later Sunday night sun burned, tired, and some of us hung over, but made it back safely with the memories of a great weekend! Check out some of the pictures on the slide show!

CONGRATULATIONS BETH!

It has been a long while since I posted last, but we have been super busy over the past weeks. Ryan working on his cow pins, and me working at the clinic! This past Friday, Ryan and I went to watch our sister graduate from High School as Salutatorian! Her speech was awesome and we were SO proud of her! She will be attending A&M next semester, majoring in Mechanical Enginering!

Today, the family is helping us remodel our bathroom! OMG! When the house was built back in the day, boy did they build it to withstand hurricanes! This tile is mortared, nailed and glued to the wall were only a sledge hammer will break it. I have been working for an hour and have barely made a dent! Here is a picture of our bathroom being demolished!

I will post again so you can see our progress tomorrow!
